# How Status Checks Work

When you run a test with the Blocked in China plugin, your website's URL is sent to our API located at `api.blockedinchina.io`. 

The Blocked in China API processes your request by simply forwarding the URL to 3rd party processors. As of August 2022, the only 3rd party data processor we are working with is [https://viewdns.info](https://viewdns.info).
